A Storm Before A Cloud
Some days are like that, where all things seem to go wrong at once –
The alarm clock fails to go off, the coffee gets spilled, the words don’t come out correctly, and even simple tasks feel like an unbearable burden.
In such times, one can easily think that the whole world is against them, that the burden they carry is endless, and that the darkness within them is there to stay forever.
But a bad day is nothing more than a day.
The measure of life is not taken in terms of failures or frustrations but rather by the long expanse of time that includes both rainy days and sunny ones.
It might rain today, but tomorrow, it will surely clear up again; the clouds will move away, silently and without making too much noise, and the blue skies will appear again, not because they have gone away for good but simply because they were still there underneath all along.
On a bad day, one can be overwhelmed by negativity, where everything becomes worse in one’s eyes. You feel like you are not doing enough, and you will never get better. Such thoughts only exist because you are tired, stressed, or disappointed. By giving yourself time to relax, you can move forward from these negative thoughts.
Remember all those hard days when you had to keep moving ahead. The days when you felt exhausted and thought that you could no longer handle it, but you eventually did. This proves that there was always something stronger than you could ever imagine, which was your own resilience.
This cannot be proclaimed loudly, yet it does prove the fact that your life is not merely a struggle.
It takes a lot of strength to endure such difficult days. But it does not necessarily entail accomplishing anything monumental or making significant decisions. It only means doing little things, such as getting out of bed, completing your tasks, or taking a step forward.
They may not seem like much, but they are the proof of your existence and survival on that particular day.
It is okay to be gentle with yourself today. Some days are simply not going to turn out well for you. While other days are about productivity, this one is about taking a pause, resting, healing, and surviving.
A bad day does not nullify your achievements, dreams, or worth.
No number of days will change your past, but they do make you realize that you are still evolving.
