The Ornament of Your Personality

Whether we show it or not, we all care about our image and how the world sees us. We want others to form a good perception of us. It’s a human feeling.

The significance of external presentation lies in its visibility. Even before an interaction takes place, other people form perceptions based on how we look.

However, in order to create that one big impression, many of our efforts go into beautifying ourselves. We get dressed up and do our makeup.

But there is something most of us fail to realize.
Physical attractiveness is not a reliable parameter. Beauty is subjective, and the standards vary. What is important is the personality we project, and confidence lies at its core.

Confidence is the garment that cannot be bought or borrowed. It comes from within. It’s the most valuable thing one can wear. It naturally brings out your “real” self, creating a favorable opinion of you in others’ minds.

If confidence is a crucial determinant of how we are perceived, how can we strengthen it further?

First is self-acceptance. Believe in your abilities and your qualities. It prepares you to tackle tough situations and face the unexpected.

Acceptance brings about authenticity. Pretending to be someone else will affect your sense of self. It will make you feel inferior and inadequate. Do not pretend to be something that you are not, since you will end up losing yourself and your value. Appreciate yourself for who you are.

Positivity boosts confidence. A lack of positivity fosters self-doubt. An optimistic mindset helps to overcome your fears, preventing you from imitating others for the sake of relevance.

It is not necessary to follow the crowd. There is no need to feel withdrawn for being different. If you’re authentic, you are relatable.

Be simple. It allows your glow to shine through. It establishes your presence. Your clothes represent your opinion of yourself. They must complement your taste and not be an imposition.

Don’t carry the weight of false anticipations or social pressure. If you do, you’ll crumble, expose your vulnerability, and gradually become weak.

It starts with removing the cloak of expectations and embracing yourself. You alone are responsible for building your confidence.

Confidence is fragile. It needs time to build, but it may be lost in a split second. Always believe in yourself because your confidence was built after years of commitment and effort.

Thus, believe in yourself, love yourself, and, most importantly, be yourself till it becomes a part of your soul.

You might not be the best at everything, but you can certainly make an everlasting impression.
