Coming Together To Achieve the Impossible
“United we stand, divided we fall.” An old saying that still holds its importance in the current times.
Nowadays, people are relying more on machines than on human labour. But as autonomous businesses are growing and individualism is on the rise, it is high time to think about the power that brought this change – the united efforts of individuals.
Unity is the backbone of any family, society, or nation. It is a meeting point of virtues, creativity, and experiences that turn into tremendous power to break through barriers and achieve the impossible.
Unity is based on trust, support, and a common goal. It is the force that helps us overcome differences, building strength to face obstacles and work towards a common goal.
Outcomes are always improved, and hard work is made easier when we work together.
India is a country with a diverse population. But what makes India proud is the concept of “unity in diversity.”
In India, traditions thrive on the word ‘we’ rather than ‘me’. We are taught to view our diversity as a combination of unique features, not as segregation.
This feeling of togetherness is blended with our culture, particularly our festivals. The festivals in India are not only about colorful celebrations. But they are also a reminder of the importance of shared happiness.
You can take the example of Phuldei. It is a folk festival in Uttarakhand that celebrates the arrival of spring. During this festival, children go to different homes and pray for prosperity by distributing flowers, rice, and jaggery while singing traditional songs.
It not only spreads the message of environmental awareness but also strengthens bonds through the exchange of greetings and societal gatherings.
Similarly, Vallam Kali, also called the ancient boat race of Kerala, is one of the best examples of this unifying feature. Scores of boats row together while singing Vanchipattu, which is a traditional boat song.
You can run one mile alone. But with a team, you can run till you get to your destination.
It is this feeling of unity that provides emotional support, removes loneliness, and helps in achieving mental peace.
In this era of widespread globalisation and digitalisation, unity has shifted from being a desirable ideal to a vital necessity.
It’s time to break down all political and physical boundaries and talk about “global unity.”
World leaders should come out of their narrow political interests to address the existing challenges –
Climate Change
The Digital Divide, And
Social And Economic Inequalities
Nations should end their physical and ideological conflicts to make this world a better place to live.
